They're light, satisfying, and easy to customize with extra lime, cilantro, or chili flakes.
Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 lb Nutrafarms ground beef
- ½ red onion, finely diced
- 4–5 cloves garlic, finely chopped or crushed
- 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Chili flakes, to taste
- 1–2 carrots, thinly sliced or julienned
- 2–3 green onions, diced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
For the Sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
For Serving
- Butter lettuce or live lettuce, separated into cups
- Extra green onion or cilantro, optional
- Lime wedges, optional

🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the Vegetables
Wash and prepare all of the vegetables before you begin cooking.
Finely dice the red onion, mince or crush the garlic, grate the ginger, julienne the carrots, dice the green onions, and roughly chop the cilantro.
Carefully separate the lettuce leaves, keeping them whole so they can hold the beef filling. Wash, pat dry, and set aside.
2. Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, fresh lime juice, and brown sugar.
Whisk until the brown sugar begins to dissolve, then set the sauce aside.
3. Season the Ground Beef
Place the raw Nutrafarms ground beef in a large bowl.
Add the red onion, garlic, ginger, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Mix until the aromatics and seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the beef.
4. Cook the Beef
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the seasoned ground beef and cook, breaking it apart as it browns.
Continue cooking until the beef is fully cooked and no pink remains. Carefully drain any excess fat if needed.
5. Add the Sauce and Carrots
Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and add the julienned carrots.
Stir until the beef is evenly coated in the sauce.
Allow everything to simmer for about 4 minutes, giving the carrots time to soften slightly while maintaining some crunch.
6. Add the Fresh Herbs
Add the diced green onions and chopped cilantro.
Stir everything together and cook for another 2–3 minutes, then remove the skillet from the heat.
7. Build the Lettuce Wraps
Spoon the warm beef mixture into the prepared lettuce cups.
Butter lettuce or live lettuce works especially well because the leaves naturally form cups while adding a fresh, satisfying crunch.
Finish with extra cilantro, green onion, chili flakes, or a squeeze of fresh lime if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
